Pitch your ideas:
  • Current situation (now)
    • some educators fail to understand why technology is important within the classroom and there is no sense urgency

  • Propose new way forward
    • develop an understanding of why technological integration enhances student learning and get buy in

  • Share strategies and resources for this (3 months)
    • create a school-wide Technology Committee (made up of teachers, senior administrators, and faculty) to:
      • revisit school vision and revise if necessary to current thinking about technology
      • look at the research of 21st Century Learning to help paint the picture of using tech in the classroom
      • create a blog or forum as a teacher resource where tech savvy teachers share ideas and resources

    • Technology Committee to present vision, research, and blog to staff (1 month)
      • present with tools we want the teachers to be using in the classroom

    • Map out the way forward; how this is going to happen: ( to revisit after 6 months)
      • build a network of small groups within your school to share tech ideas - finding common ground - make this a focus - and then go out from there - must come from administration coupled with PD
      • teachers acts as mentors for each other and administrators
      • skill share sessions - formal and informal

    • When recruiting, make sure to make the vision and philosophy are clear and a requirement (utilize ISTE expectations)
